December 8-December 10

So this weekend was pretty busy. I went over to Ryan's on Friday night so that we could leave first thing Saturday morning to go to Iowa. We went down to Iowa to visit my friends, Gretchen and Noy, and also to see Gretch's parents. Saturday we hung out until we went to Psychic Suzanna. She told me some pretty interesting things including being gullible. We then went out to a bar and hung out until Ryan and I decided to leave with Gretchen's parents and go back to the house. Sunday we hung out and had some good grub before coming home.

December 1-December 3, 2006

This weekend I did not do a whole lot. On Friday night Ryan and I went out to dinner at Outback Steakhouse. We then went over to see Flag of Our Fathers. It was a really good movie, but hard to watch. It depicts the events that happened in a very real, sometimes too graphic, way. Saturday I was supposed to go to a Pampered Chef party, but I had felt that I had neglected Leyla, so I stayed home instead. Ryan came over and I cooked him dinner and then we just stayed in and watched a movie. Sunday, I just hung out with Leyla. Not that exciting. I ended up getting sick and staying home on Monday and Tuesday. Back to work tomorrow. So, here are some long awaited pics of me and Ryan...I asked him to crop the best one, so that will come later.
Don't worry, he is actually happy!

Thanksgiving weekend

So, Thanksgiving weekend was packed (I know I am a little behind in my posts). I spent Wednesday night just hanging out with Ryan. Thursday we had three Thanksgiving meals we were supposed to make it to. We made it to two. We started out at Ryan's dad's house and then drove from there over to his dad's Thanksgiving in Cottage Grove (I think that's where we were). We were there for several hours (enough to watch almost two full football games). We then went back to Ryan's dad's house to pick up Ryan's car and went over to Ryan's friend Tyler's house. We stayed there for awhile playing with the kids and talking. Friday, I went to my family's Thanksgiving celebration. Ryan had to work and he wasn't feeling well. Saturday I went to see Pirate's of the Carribean Dead Man's Chest with Amy. It was a pretty good! Amy and I then went and got dinner at Perkin's. It was kind of nice to eat there again at my old stompin grounds (not the same Perkins, but got the same feeling). Amy is going to be working three jobs now, so I will not be able to see too much of her. Sunday I was supposed to go to church, but was not feeling like it. I waited until Erica woke up and then went to get her so that I could go over to Erica's parent's house for the "Cookie Marathon". We made over 400 cookies, 7 different kinds in about 7 hours. It was a fun time. The cookies were really good too! Ryan got part of my batch and so did mom and dad.

Rest of the Weekend

SO, Friday I was sick. Saturday, I was feeling a little under the weather, but I took Leyla over to my parent's house and then went out with my mother. We first checked out a consultant party. We had agreed to not buy anything, but ended up buying some Pampered Chef. My mom actually bought it, but I think I will get a couple of things for Christmas! We then went out to a stamping party. YES you read that right. My mother and I went to make cards out of stamps. I actually think they turned out pretty cool even though I got a little snicker from my artist boyfriend. Saturday night, I took it easy and spent some time with Leyla. Sunday I was supposed to go to church, but I woke up with a migraine (again). I took it easy until Ryan picked me up to go to his dad's house to watch the game. What a sad game! :) We then came back to my place and hung out and watched television until he went home. Before we began to really get into the Sunday shows, Ryan had put one of Leyla's favorite toys in a empty pop box. While we were watching "Family Guy" we noticed that Leyla's head was stuck in the box. It was the funniest thing. She stopped and stood still for several minutes confused about what to do. She then would shake her head rapidly. Don't worry she eventually got the box off herself, but we had a little fun with it in the meantime. So, for good laughs, look at the pics of Leyla with her head stuck in the box. I also decided this weekend that I was going to sign up for classes at UW River Falls to get my Counseling license so that I can have more options when it comes to jobs next year. I am not happy at my job, so I am going to start applying in April or May for new jobs (I have applied for some county jobs before then, because it takes forever for the county to respond). My Dorky, cute puppy

WooHoo!!!

SO, can I brag! ALIKA AND EARNEST ARE MOVING HOME!!! I know this is seriously going to be hard on Alika's dad and stepmom, but I can't help but being ecstatic. So I just had to brag. So far my weekend has been a rollercoaster ride, because yesterday (Thursday) I ran into some old friends from high school that I had not seen in 10 years (Jeff and Brad). I also got to see my friend, Rob again. Ryan and I had gone to Bunkers with another one of our couple friends and we ran into all sorts of people I knew. When we were leaving, Erica was just arriving. Tonight, I was supposed to hang out with Ryan, but I think I have a touch of the stomach flu. I am going to bed soon, because my mom and I are supposed to spend the day together. But before I leave, I have to tell a naughty (and funny) Leyla story. I was on the computer tonight IMing one of my friends. We decided to call it a night, so I went to check on Leyla. Leyla had decided it would be fun to unravel half a roll of toilet paper and rip it into little pieces in the bedroom and hallway. She was going to sleep with me tonight (and probably still will), but right now she is in her kennel in the bedroom and knows that mama is NOT happy with her. I know it was because I was ignoring her and slept for most of the day. My fault. Should have taken a pic, but was too mad at Leyla.

Poem

So, here is a poem that I wrote about Ryan:

I don't know how to begin to tell you ,
just what you mean to me!
I could tell you that I melt everytime you look at me,
with those amazing brown eyes!
I could tell you that it's how you hold me in your arms,
and make me feel safe!
I could tell you that it's the soft kisses!
I could tell you it's the cute nicknames you have for me!

Do I say I love your passion for life?
Do I say that it's how I love to spend time with you?
Do I say I love how close you are to your family?
Do I say it's your love for kids?
Or do I just say that I have fallen for you?

Last two weekends

So, I have been busy. I have been spending a lot of time with Ryan. Last weekend we went to see Borat (a movie). It was hysterical. We then stayed in for the rest of the weekend. This weekend, Friday night we stayed in. I was too tired to do anything. Saturday we attempted to go see one of his co-workers bands perform. I say "attempted" because Ryan fell asleep. I called him around 8:30, so we did not get out to the show until about 10:30. His co-worker went on at about 9:30-10. We left there and went to Pizza Luce. Sunday, I went to church to help out. I worked it out with them that I would still volunteer but step back on my responsibilities. I was getting a migraine every time I went and I helped out for at least 10 hours a week. I am also getting a part-time job that will be every other weekend. After church, I met Ryan and Erica at Old Chicago to watch the Vikings/Packer game. I wish I had not bet on the game, because the Vikings lost (AGAIN). I am a sore Vikings fan today! I then came home and hung out with Leyla until I put her to bed. So, I have not been good at updating this website, but will try. More later.

Halloween weekend

So, I guess I was supposed to do something this weekend for Halloween. I chose not to. On Friday night, Amy and I went out to dinner and then we met up with Ryan and his cousin and went and saw "Man of the Year" with Robin Williams. It was a good movie, but not the best movie I have seen in the past couple of months. "Black Dhalia" was definitely better. We then went back to Ryan's house and hung out with Ryan and his cousin for a while. Saturday, I went out to dinner for my friend, Shani's birthday. We had talked about going to a movie afterwards, but after dinner she decided she was too tired. I decided I did not want to go home, so I went over to Ryan's to hang out (notice a theme here?). Sunday, I went out to dinner with Ryan and his bestfriend and his girlfriend. I ate out so much this weekend, that now for the coming weekend, I have to stay in. I will write more later (and will hopefully have pictures soon).

MEA Weekend

So, for those of you who do not know what MEA is (you aren't from Minnesota), it is the Minnesota Education Association's weekend. Basically a huge conference every year for Educator's and a four day (in some district's five day) weekend. So I had a busy, fun weekend! This weekend I started out the weekend by dropping Leyla off for surgery (a picture of my little conehead follows). I have to admit, I cried after I left the vet. Pretty pathetic, but if you think about it, I have not been away from Leyla for more than 13 hours since I got her four months ago. It was a rough night for me. On Thursday I got up and worked all day cleaning. I cleaned the kitchen top to bottom. I dusted, vacuumed and shampooed the living room carpet. I vacuum and cleaned out my bedroom closet and I scrubbed down the bathroom. For those of you who read this and may not know me as well, I HATE CLEANING and have never been a clean person, so the fact that I accomplished so much is huge. I still have to clean the spare bedroom soon, so I might have to enlist some service in puppy sitting so I can accomplish that. Leyla has a tendency when she is in the spare bedroom to steal receipts (even though they are in a bag to be shred). Thursday night Ryan came over and I cooked (yes again) and we watched a movie. On Friday, Mom and Dad brought Leyla over. The problem is that the vet did not give her a cone, because she was doing well, while she was there. The minute she sat down next to me, she began to go for the stitches. Ryan and I took Leyla back to the vet to get her cone. We then went and picked up his brother to go to Acme Comedy Club to see Todd Glass. Kyle was supposed to come, but we had to switch to the later show so he bailed. The show was awesome. I cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard. It really was the best show I have seen there so far. Saturday during the day I hung out with Leyla until I had to get ready to go over to Ryan's. We had a B-day party to go to. A bunch of us (10 people including myself) went out to the Trail of Terrors. It was fun except for the 2 1/2 hours that we had to stand out in the cold to wait to go into the Haunted Mansion. Once we got in there, it was awesome. Freddy Kruger (sorry if I spelled it wrong, I have never seen any of the movies) took a liking to me and began to follow me around the maze, so I used Ryan as a shield and ran like mad to get away from him. We went back to Chris' house (Ryan's friend) and hung out until late in the morning. Ryan and I then went to near Turtle Lake, WI so that I could meet his sister and his nephew. I forgot to mention that on Friday, Ryan met my parents and I met his mom. It was a crazy weekend. I then came home and passed out with Leyla. So to top everything off, Friday night around 4:30 I got a call stating that there had been a bomb threat at my school and that my supervisor was going to meet with staff Monday morning at 7:30. I planned on getting to work today about 7:15. Well, I guess my mind and my body did not agree, because I SLEPT until 7:15. I managed to still make it to work at 7:40 (the benefits of living close to work). It was also not good, because I had one of my district representatives waiting for me for a 7:30 meeting which since my time clock was off, I thought was at 8. Not a good way to start a week, especially when the Monday after a long weekend is always hard on the type of kids I work with. Even though I am exhausted, the weekend was worth it! And finally, after all the hard work and stubborness of staying away from myspace.com I have given in. Reason being that some of my good friends from high school have myspace accounts and I cannot talk to them unless I have one. Also, so does Jason, Gretchen, and Ryan. So...I will continue this website to write more of my frustrations and also to keep an online journal of my weekends for those of you who actually read this and my myspace account to communicate more with some friends specifically Jason and Gretchen (sorry Ryan). So I will end with a really cute picture of Leyla.

My Puppy...

So, tonight I am feeling really guilty. Leyla is sitting up in the doggy hospital waiting to have surgery tomorrow. She is finally going to get spayed. I am a dork though. I am more upset because I will be away from her for 36 hours, she is having surgery, and I will be away from her for 36 hours. I am feeling guilty, because I have been planning activities for the whole weekend and this is probably the ONE weekend I should not go out. I also feel like a dork, because I brought in the little stuffed puppy that Leyla sleeps with at night and asked them to keep it with her. I figure if I am having trouble with her being away from me for 36 hours, she is having trouble as well. I feel like such a mom. When I was leaving the office, I said, "Bye, pumpkin!" When I got out to the car, I cried! So, if there was any doubt in the past of if I am either a dork or attached to my puppy, I guess there is no room for doubt anymore!

October 13-15, 2006

I spent most of the weekend either with Ryan or Leyla or both. On Friday night, Ryan and I decided to stay in and watch a movie. We decided to watch "The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys". It was an interesting moving. During the movie, one of the scenes was about how this boy and girl had seen eachother 4 days in a row. I made a smart ass comment to Ryan about how that would be nice. So this coming weekend, we will try 4 days in a row. On Saturday, I decided that I needed to spend time with Leyla, so I hung out at home for most of the day. On Sunday, I had church in the morning. It was a cool service, because we had the kids and adults worship together. Then Ryan came over and we watched another Harry Potter movie while trying to fend off Leyla. She likes Ryan so much that she will never leave him alone. I got to bed really late, so I was really tired on Monday. On Tuesday, I went out to dinner with my friend, Laura. Today, I have to drop Leyla off for her surgery to get fixed. I will have A LOT more to write about from this weekend, since it is a four day weekend for me (not to rub it in:) .

Doctor's Office

My migraines have been aweful the last couple of weeks so I had to go to the doctor. I found something that is kind of ironic that I have thought about in the past. You ever notice how when you are in a doctor's office you can often hear everything the doctor is saying to the patient in the next room? I wonder how this works with HIPAA and with confidentiality. I maybe think about these things more than the normal person, because I am a social worker, but it really bothers me. How come the people who design doctor's offices cannot make the walls thick enough to keep my "private" information private? It kind of feels a little (what's a good word for it) hypocrytical. We also sometimes will be in line to check in at the doctor's office or at the pharamacy and the person at the counter will say something about your personal information or why you are there and now everyone knows your "private" information. I might also just feel like ranting and raving, because I just got over a four day stint with a migraine and have missed a full day and a end of the day at work. You be the judge!

Catch UP

SO, I haven't written in a couple of weeks. I think it's fair to say that I have been distracted by many things, but mainly by a particular guy I am seeing. I just have forgotten to write. I have done lots such as going to see "Jackass Two" in exchange that Ryan watches "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". I have to admit that I kind of liked "Jackass Two" (sorry Mom and Dad). I also decided that since Ryan has cooked for me twice, it would be nice to return the favor so I cooked (yes I actually cooked...can you believe it). I also went to see "School for Scoundrels" with Shani. That was also a really good movie. Leyla is still as cute as ever. She is such a mama's girl! All she has wanted to do this last couple of days is cuddle up next to me and eat her rawhide bone. So, I will try to write more often, but forgive me if I get distracted.

September 22-24, 2006

This weekend was jammed packed with things. On Friday night I picked up my friend, Shani and we went to Bunkers to meet up with a bunch of people. We saw Wrinkle T play there. It was a really good show. It was the first time, though, in a long time that I closed out a bar. Shani and I went home after that. I had to get up pretty early for a Saturday morning to go pick up Shani so that we could meet Becky and her mother at the Ren Fest. It was a cold rainy day, so not the best day there that I have had. I felt guilty being at Ren Fest, because I wanted to be home with Leyla. I was supposed to spend Saturday night at a wedding reception with the guy I am seeing, but I was so tired from being at the Ren Fest all day that I opted out. On Sunday, I had church (or was supposed to). I got there in time to set up for the service, but then I got a really bad migraine. I left and went to my parent's house to rest, before I went over my budget with them. I then had to do the fun task of discussing my budget. My parents are awesome, though, because they are going to be helping me get back on track bigtime! I then came home and the guy I am seeing came over to hang out for a while. I had to go to training all the following week, so we kept it an early night.

September 14-17, 2006

Well, this weekend started on Thursday. I met my date at Bonfire restaurant for dinner. It was a nice place to go, because we could talk for a while before the dueling pianos began. We were both exhausted, so we ended the night early. Friday night I decided that I needed to hang out with Leyla, because I had not been home with her since Sunday due to being TOO busy! We just played. She must have missed me a lot, because she just wanted to lay by my side and chew on her rawhide. If I moved, she moved. On Saturday, I did cleaning before I went out on another date. We went to see "Black Dhalia". It was a really good movie (don't believe the critics)! I thought it was a little graphic at times, but it was good for portraying the story. We then went back to his house and watched "Secret Window" which is another good movie, but is a little weird. Johnny Depp is always good, though, so it was worth watching. If you like movies with a twist, see this one! Sunday, I had to get up and be at church by 7:30a.m. to set up for our first weekly service. It was a huge success! We had 200 people in our adult worship and 50 kids in our youth worship. It was fun to see all of the people, including some people that I knew back in high school. I got home in time to watch overtime for the Vikings game. What a good ending! When I got to work today, one of the guys told me that he was going to follow my pickings, because I told him that the Vikings would win the last two games. Lets see if I am right about the game this Sunday against the Bears! Well, I have another busy weekend coming up! If you want to check out a really good band, Wrinkle-T plays at Bunkers on Friday night. I am not sure what time they go on, but they will be on for two sets (about 3 hours). I will hopefully see some of you there.

Puppy Mills

I was on a date last night and I happened to be reading one of those adds in the bathroom stalls. It was about puppy mills. Since I bought Leyla from a breeder, I have been trying to learn more about puppy mills (everyone would ask me if the breeder we went to was a puppy mill, which it was not). I get really angered when I hear about people who abuse animals (and children, of course). I don't know how someone could be so concerned about money that they would let puppies live in such terrible conditions. After reading about puppy mills, I watched Secret Window. In that movie they talk about how some places do not have laws about inhumane treatment of animals. I realized this a year ago when I was doing some research for a friend and found out that Minnesota and the state this friend is from have different laws about what constitutes cruelty to animals and different sentencing guidelines. I wish that this would be an issue that would be address by law enforcement so that people who have puppy mills or who are cruel to animals would be treated the same in each state and crimes against animals would constitute some jail time.

Graduation

So Leyla is officially a graduate of Puppy class. She even got a certificate of completion and a milkbone that was about 3-4 inches long and one inch wide. She loved hiding and then eating her bone. She pranced around the house trying to find the perfect spot for her bone. The best place she found was in between the pillows on my bed. Anytime I went to check on her, though, she would have to go back and check to make sure I did not take her bone. I love that they even gave them caps with tassles (the red thing by my hand) for the pictures (no we did not get to keep them). I will get a group picture soon, so I will post that as well. We will now sign up for our Intermediate class hopefully next week. I am so proud of my graduate (even though I had to miss the 1st half of the Vikings game)!

September 8-10, 2006

This weekend was a REALLY good weekend! Friday was just a night with Leyla. We hung out and played with some toys. Saturday, I had to get up early (for a Saturday) so that I could get ready for my date. I went over to his house about noon so that we could drive to Ren Fest together. We spent most of the day there, leaving around 6. It was his first time there, so we saw "Puke and Snot" and "The Tortuga Twins". When we were leaving, Tuey the Juggler was performing, so we watched him. We then went back to his house where he cooked me a really good dinner. Then we just hung out with his roommates dog, Cookie, and watched a movie and television. I was so proud of Leyla when I got home, because she did not pee all night (until she saw me). I did not get home until 1, so it was over 13 hours (drive time) that she was home without going outside. When I got home, I made sure that I played with her for over an hour and then we went to bed. Sunday, I got up really late and hung out with Leyla until I had to leave for a special service at church. My old church, Bethlehem Lutheran, had a ceremony for my new church, Jacob's Well. I did not realize how emotional this was going to be for me, but when I saw my pastor (of my new church) and his wife crying, it hit me. I am actually switching churches. Even though the new church was launched by one of the pastors at Bethlehem, I never in my life thought I would leave Bethlehem. I have mixed emotions, because I am really excited about this new church, but my old church was a home away from home for me for all of my life. It will be a revolving door between Jacob's Well and Bethlehem and when I eventually get married, it will be at Bethlehem (Jacob's Well is a moving church, so it does not have one building it uses). So, when I got home today, even though it was after 5, I had to take a nap, because I was so emotionally drained. Tomorrow (Monday) is Leyla's last puppy class and then she graduates. We will start up our next class on September 19. Anyways, that is all for now. I am sure with the primaries being this week, that I will have more to write about soon!

Branded

So, this did not take long. I am reading a book called Branded: the buying and selling of teenagers by Alissa Quart. In her book she discusses how youth today are caught up in brand names. She talks about how ad execs focus their marketing on teenagers because they are the most susceptible. I was looking back at my own upbringing and realized that this has been happening for years. My family shops at Target not Kmart or Walmart (not really "brand" names, but...). I find myself becoming snobbish about Walmart and Kmart, because I think Target is superior. I also am more likely to like Ann Taylor Loft or The Limited than Dots, because they know styles. I wonder what would happen to our economy if we stopped paying attention to brand names and only purchased generics? Would the world stop functioning? Would our country become one of the poorest instead of one of the richest? Food for thought.

New Image

I was looking at other people's blogs and I noticed two things, more opinion (which I like) and brighter background. I was feeling like my blog was TOO dark, especially with Puddin' being black. He kind of blended in, so new image. As far as opinion, everyone knows that I have a lot of them. I don't know how I will incorporate this into my blog, but I am going to try. I think that it will speak more about who I am. So, this means that if something comes up that I feel like venting about (in the media or everyday occurance) I will probably be just writing about it more. Tell me what you think.

September 3, 2006

Today, I decided to just hang out with Leyla since we will not have a full day for just anytime in the near future. I also found out that I am not able to get clinical hours for my current job, so I have to either volunteer or pick up a second job that provides counseling. So even less time for me and Leyla. Leyla and I slept in rather late (10:30-10:45). We then took it easy until we went over to my parent's house. We decided to introduce Leyla and Puddin' earlier instead of later. It worked out a lot differently than I had anticipated. Leyla was scared of Puddin'. I guess two things came into play...Leyla is used to being the only puppy at my parent's house and getting all the attention and two, Puddin' is older than Leyla was when she left the kennel, so she is used to being around other puppies (including Leyla's brothers). Puddin' kept jumping on Leyla's back. I had to move from sitting on the floor to sitting on the couch, which worked until Puddin' figured out how to get on the couch. Then Leyla figured out that Puddin' could not move on the stairs as fast as she could so she would run up the stairs to get away. Puddin' would follow and she would run back down the stairs and back on the couch (I was on there so it was safe). Puddin' also likes to try and hump Leyla every chance she can get. Leyla did warm up eventually and began to pounce on Puddin' when he was not looking. Leyla was also very gentle and calm with Puddin' (that was part of the problem-she would not fight back). So here are some pics and a video (will come later). Enjoy!

So Puddin' looks like his eyes glow, but besides that, you can see that Leyla has chosen the higher ground (and she is bigger).

August 31, 2006-September 1, 2006

I am doing this weekend's entry different and doing Thursday and Friday and then will have Saturday through Monday be separate. I had a date on Thursday. It was really cool! We went to see The New Congress play at Bunkers. It was cool, because it was different and the music is a jazzie soul type of music. When we were leaving (he had to work today), I ran into a old friend of mine, Rob, from high school who does the promotions for New Congress. It was so cool running into Rob, because we used to be really close and have not seen each other in years. Friday I just hung out with Leyla until my parents called to let me know that they were going to pick out their puppy. We went back to the same place we got Leyla from. My parents picked out a black Cockapoo who they (or my mom) named Puddin' (not sure how they are going to spell it). He is pretty cute. There were some other Cockapoos there that were only 9 weeks old. I guess I forgot how small Leyla was when I got her. She was five pounds when I brought her home and now she is 11 pounds. She is also taller and has longer fur (I don't want to get her trimmed, because she looks like a little stuffed animal right now). Anyways, the rest of the weekend might be slow, because I don't have anything planned. I did find out earlier this week that my good friend, Jason, is going to be in town from London at the end of October beginning of November. I cannot wait to see him. More later!

1st picture: So, I guarantee that my mother is holding him gently! I chose this picture, because you can see the white tuft of hair on his chin and his chest. 2nd picture: Puddin' really likes the slinky when someone else is holding it.

August 25-28, 2006

So I had a pretty cool weekend last week (okay, REALLY cool). On Friday I just took it easy and stayed home with Leyla, because I had to work early the next day. I took the girl that I work with to Grand Slam which I have not been to since I was fourteen. I then went to a BBQ with my friend, Shani. It was pretty cool. It was mostly guys and then a few of us girls. One of the guys had a old German flight suit that he got at a surplus store. It didn't fit him so he gave it to another guy who decided it would be fun to go swimming in it. Most of the guys took turns being thrown into the pool with the light suit on. It was really funny to watch. Shani and I hung out there for a while. Sunday, I took my first trip to the Renaissance Festival. I say my "first" trip, because I am going at least once more with some of my friends. I went there on a date. It was pretty cool, but strange to not purchase anything and to not be in costume (yes I am a Ren Fest Geek). I got home kind of late, but had to go to bed early, because it was back to work on Monday morning bright and early at 7:30a.m. Work on Monday was actually pretty cool, because I realized that I work with a lot of really sarcastic people, so that is good. Leyla and I went to class on Monday night. I will also have some updated pictures of Leyla soon so stay tuned.

Okay

So last weekend was pretty packed. I went out with my friend, Erica, on Friday night. Her brother joined us after we had dinner for some drinks. It was a good night. The problem was that since I had to pick up Leyla at my parent's house and had to go home, I did not get in bed until 4:00a.m. I had to be up at 8:00a.m. so I could go to church to help them set up for Sunday's service. I was there from 9-11, then worked from 1-4 and finally made it home at 4:30. I then took a nap and got ready for my date. We went to Khan's Mongolian BBQ and then to Flaherty's Bowling Alley to do Cosmic Bowling. Cosmic Bowling was fun, because everything glows from the blacklight. I then had to get home, because I had to be at church at 9 in order to get ready to run my small group for the kids worship service (they have a separate one from their parents that tells the same message, but at a kid-friendly level). I then finally was able to come home and spend the rest of the day with Leyla. On Monday we had our 6th Puppy class. Leyla is doing so awesome! My parents like Leyla's personality so much that they are seriously considering getting a Cockapoo. My only stipulation is that they do not name her Leyla. Otherwise, I can't wait to see Leyla's reaction to a puppy that looks just like her (or almost). Anyways, I have orientation for my new job on Thursday and then we have our welcome back week for all teachers next week. I also have another busy weekend coming up so I should have more to post on Monday or Tuesday of next week!

Busy Again

So this weekend I was again really busy. It kind of feels nice to have things to do all of the time. On Friday night I had my first date in over a year. We went to Acme Comedy Club for the dinner/show package. We had front row seats which was both good and bad (my date and I are both shy and he kept getting called on). We then went to Bonfire in St. Paul to listen to the dueling pianos. He also bought a present for Leyla which was so sweet! On Saturday I had my friend, Laura's, 30th Birthday party. It was fun to see her since it has been over a year. Her and her boyfriend have a really nice house in St. Louis Park so the party was in their backyard. I then went to my reunion. Only 11 people out of a class of 250 RSVPd for the party. There were about 30 people total there. It was fun, though, because I knew a lot of people there and was able to have comfortable conversations with all of them. Afterwards, my friend, Katie and a couple other people went to Katie's house to hang out for a while. Today, I was supposed to go to the Irish Fair in St. Paul with Shani, but it has been raining and cold all day, so I just took it easy and stayed home with Leyla. She is officially 4 months old today! She is also getting really big. She has shot up in height (gain inches in her legs) and she weighs more. I will find out how much when we go to the vet this week for her final s
hots. Well, I will right more later.

Below is a picture of myself and two of my classmates, Giovan and Tomorrah.

Lady

Today was a really hard day for me and this blog will be written behind tears. My family dog, Lady, was put to rest today. I don't think I could express what kind of dog Lady is better than my brother did, so I have copied his blog entry here.

Goodbye Lady…

© 2002 by Kyle A. Christopherson

Knowing it is coming never makes it easier. I have been waiting for this to happen for quite some time now. You see Lady was a 17 year old Siberian husky. She was a member of our family for over half my life; she died this morning at 10:58am.

Lady lived the life of a rambunctious and enthusiastic puppy until she was about 14 years old, when she finally began to slow down and take it easy; she spent her time drinking from waterfalls and wandering about her gardens, watching the birds, listening to the water babble, and lounging about.

Lady was a playful, gentle, and loving member of our family. She will be missed, but remembered with joy.

Busy, Busy, Busy

SO this weekend was pretty packed. I was supposed to work on Friday night and take a girl I work with to see "Wrapped in Plastic" going on at the Fringe Festival. It is a play about how teenage girls are affected by societies views about how they should dress and act. I am going to check out the book "Branded" from the public library, because it talks about the same thing. Well, my life story always has migraines involved and I got a bad one. I had spent the day with my friend, Zarra and her daughter, Abby. We went to Snuffy's to have lunch and then went back to Zarra's new apartment. It is one of the apartments that was built on West 7th by the Airport. They are REALLY nice apartments. Zarra and I watched "Four Brothers" while Abby had quiet time in her room. I felt badly leaving Leyla, because on Thursday, I was gone for 11 hours for work (Kyle came over and watched her). He also decided to start his blog that day. I have a link on this site if you are interested (Alika?). On Saturday, I had my friend, Jen's wedding. It started at 1:30 and I was there until 12:15a.m. I got to hang out with a bunch of my old co-workers one of which leaves for Germany for two years today (it is Tuesday, August 8th). She got really upset towards the end. The wedding was awesome! Jen and Jeff are the cutest couple! Then on Sunday, Kyle and I went to the Uptown Art Fair so that he could mingle for his Realtor job. He showed me his office and gave me some business cards, which are both really cool. I then came home and hung out with Leyla. On Monday I was supposed to work a 6 1/2 hour day, but the kid was being a pill so I ended up working only 3 1/2 hours. I then came home and hung out with Leyla until puppy class. My parents got home from their two week vacation yesterday, so we stopped over there. My dad made a comment about Leyla that made me really proud. He said you can tell that not only is she bigger, but she's more mature (0r something to that affect). Thanks Dad! Her training is really paying off. If it continues to go so well, then we will do the next class. My goal is to get her eventually trained as a therapy dog. Anyways, I have my 10 year (yes I'm a youngin) high school reunion on Saturday August 12. I had a head start, because I just ran into my old friend, Neil, from Washburn. I tried to encourage him (and his wife) to come to our reunion. Hopefully he does. Anyways, I will try to write more after this weekend. I am actually really excited about the reunion! It is also the Irish Festival this weekend, so I will try and go with some friends.

Rest of weekend

So after my trauma of getting the mailbox key out of the poop pail, I had a pretty calm weekend. Saturday I just worked for a few hours and hung out with Leyla. She is actually doing pretty well. Sunday, I went to the 2nd service for Jacob's Well and stayed at the picnic afterwards. I have to begin helping with the children's service for the next worship service. I will be a small group leader. I do not know for what ages yet. I then went home and played (inside, because it was close to 100 degrees) with Leyla. Monday, we had our second (supposed to be 3rd, but we missed that class due to the storm) puppy class. Leyla was more interested in the other puppies and adults than paying attention to what I was trying to teach her. We have a lot to work on this week: drop, wait (for a treat), leave it, loose leash, and silent and verbal sit commands. She is a quick learner, but she is choosing to not pay attention to her name right now. I have to work on that too. Anyways, I should go. I am technically working right now. I will post more after this weekend. I have my friend, Jen's wedding on Saturday!

Mailbox Key

SO, this one deserved its own entry, because it is kind of funny (and gross). I had left Leyla today so that I could do some errands and so I could run over to my parent's house so Kyle could help me add links to my website. I am pretty computer illiterate when it comes to things like that. Well, I came home and wanted to get my mail before coming into the house to hang out with Leyla...one problem...I couldn't find my mailbox key. I looked in my car including in the garbage in there (even though it sounds weird, I have found my key in there before). I then came into the house and looked everywhere even thinking that maybe Leyla had found it and moved it. She likes to take my keys when I drop them on the floor and move them so that she can chew on them. I ransacked my kitchen table and emptied out my purse, still no key. I decided to wait until Leyla went to bed to continue my search. After she went to bed, I went down to my car and again searched everywhere including in the garbage, again. Didn't find the key. I took my flashlight on my keychain and retraced steps outside that Leyla and I had taken the day before. No key. I looked in the car again, no key. I then, as a last attempt, decided to look in the trash container that I put the bags of poop in after Leyla does her business. I emptied out the whole container. At the bottom of the poop container was the key. It's gross and funny. And the key STINKS!!! I need to buy bleach tomorrow to bleach out the smell and disinfect it. SO, does it deserve it's own entry? I think so!

July 17, 2006

So this weeekend was a busy one and next weekend will be even busier. On Friday, I didn't do much besides go and get a pedicure. On Saturday, Leyla and I went over to my parent's house rather early so that I could have them watch her while I made spring rolls for my cousin's wedding. My mother helped me with the spring rolls and my dad watched Leyla. My mother and I then went to my cousin's wedding (my brother showed up later). My cousin actually got married in Turks and Kakos, but she had a renewal of vows at her mother's house so everyone could be there. It was actually rather nice, despite the heat. I then took Leyla home. On Sunday, I had a special picnic for my new church, Jacob's Well (http://www.jacobs-well.net/). It was a lot of fun. My parents again watched Leyla. So it was busy. Next weekend I have another wedding and other wedding stuff on Friday and Saturday night. So I have a question for everyone (you can respond either on here or on E-mail if you want), my mother thinks that Leyla looks like an ewok, any thoughts? She means it in a good way, because she thinks ewoks are cute. Until next time...

July 9, 2006

So, Friday night I planned Girls Night Out. Only Katie could come. A couple friends had to cancel due to unforseen circumstances. We went to the Basillica Block Party which was sold out. It was actually a good thing (even though I wanted them to come) that the other two people had to cancel, because they wouldn't have been able to get in anyways. Katie and I staked out a spot in front of the Genesis 10 Stage which had a local group, "Wannabe Hasbeens" which were pretty good. They then had the "Hopefuls" and ended with Mike Doughty. We wanted to just stick to one stage so we did not loose our spots. It didn't matter, though, because everyone decided to stand up as soon as Mike Doughty began to play. It would have been easier to see for everyone if everyone had continued to stay seated, but I guess that is too much to ask. I then dropped Katie off and went to meet up with my friend, Erica, and some of her friends at the Loring Pasta Bar. I stayed there until bar close and then drove Erica and her friends home. I went back to my parent's house thinking I was going to be able to sleep, but Leyla would not go to sleep. Anytime I moved two feet away from her, she began to cry. So at 3:15 in the morning, we left and went home. She then of course wanted to get up early, but I got her to sleep until 10. We then got up for a few hours and I went back to bed for four. She was really good at letting me sleep. Today, I went to my aunt's art show with my mother. Leyla is having a not so good day, but that will change. We are going to hopefully start doggy classes in a week so that she can learn some more basic commends. We are still working on no and just when I thought the potty training was done, she peed twice in my house and she has not quite grasped the pooping outside. She is getting better at letting me know. Today is her 3 Month B-day though, so I have some pictures that I have attached to this blog. Anyways, all is well. I was not going to get a full-time job, but work part-time, but in order to make my mortgage payments and be comfortable for the rest of the summer, I will have to work full-time. Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well. I am trying to stay up to date on my website, but I guess I tend to lag behind. I had a pretty good Forth of July, but I just spent it at home with Leyla. I also went to see the Taste of Minnesota fireworks on Saturday, June 30 (or whatever that Saturday was). Here are the pics.
Leyla is sleeping underneath the couch the first weekend I had her.

Natural athlete (I happened to miss the picture where she was jumping hurdles in my living room).

Fighting with her best friend and sleeping buddy. Behind her is the thing that she was doing hurdles over and she cleared it by half a foot. Good jumper and runner.

Leyla Update

So, Leyla and I have been a family for a week now. The first night I had her, I broke down to my parent's and wondered if I made the right choice...I did. Leyla is a handful, but she is so sweet and so eager to please that she is quickly learning. She is pretty much potty trained. For instance it is 10:30 today. We got up at 6 and a Leyla has not had an accident YET. She probably will, but she has been doing good at going to the door and pulling on the leash when she needs to go potty. The only problem is that sometimes she likes to play with the leash, so I am still working on how to determine if she really wants to go out or if she is just playing. Right now she is just playing. She is also learning quickly on the chewing thing. She has this idea that my feet are a chew toy. I almost have her broken of that. She still tries to eat my flipflops so they are put on the papasan for safe keeping for the time being. I am probably going to pick up a full-time job beginning next week to make some extra cash this summer. Leyla has already had three puppysitting experiences with my parents who have agreed to watch her while I am at work. I will only be working 4-6 weeks, and it will get her used to being away from me for when I go back to work. She also doesn't chew their feet and will tell them more than me about needing to go potty outside (she is still testing me a little bit. I also need to make a correction about her age. My mother and I were looking at her date of birth (4-22-06) and realized that Leyla is actually 10 weeks now, not nine. Could explain why she is learning so quickly. I am still working on getting more pictures of her to post on the website. She went to the vet on Tuesday, but I didn't know how to ask the vet if I could take a picture. She did very well though. I will write more later. Also, for those of you who have websites on blogspot, can you E-mail me with directions on how to put links to other sites on my website. My church began its new church, Jacob's Well, and I also have lots of friends who have sites, and would like to be able to put links. Let me know. Thanks.

Hmmm

Okay, so it looks like I missed the ball again. So I went to a BBQ at Shani's friend Becky's house (got it?). It was a lot of fun and pretty stess free. I have also been to see the movie "The Break Up" with my friend, Amy. I didn't like the ending, but besides that it was an okay movie. I got a new job. It is with Northeast Metro 916. It will be working with kids that have Severe Emotional Disturbance. Last weekend I was able to go visit my cousins in Milwaukee with my parents and grandmother. There are some pics attached. I also just bought a puppy (today). Her name is Leyla. She is an 8 week out Cockapoo. Since she is only 8 weeks, she is very hard to take a pic of, so I did my best and attached what I could. I did just get a good one, though. I wish I had my digital in the car, because my mother took an awesome picture of Leyla looking up at me and just staring into my eyes. It is precious, but it is on my cell and I don't know how to transfer it to my laptop (any ideas all you computer gurus). She is such a handfull already. She is already learning that when I pick her up and take her away from things it means that I am not happy with her. She is also figuring out that "Hey" in an oh oh voice and "No" are not a good thing. She is also unable to stop on my kitchen floors, because they are wood. A few more crashes and she should learn. Back to my cousins, between the four of them, they have five kids and two on the way. I have pics of the five kids, Amara and Adalade are my cousin, Robyn's kids, and Emily, David, and Daniel are Heather's kids. I am also looking for a part-time job as well as raising a new pup and planning Girls Night Out. So here are the pics, enjoy.

This is Amara

This is Adalade

This is my cousin, Heather and two of her three, Emily and Daniel

This is my cousin-in-law, Eric and his son, David (Heather's too).

AND THIS IS LEYLA!

Isn't she a cutie! I think she wore herself out, though, because she is fast asleep next to me. One more trip outside in an hour to make sure and then we're off to bed.

The DaVinci Code

So by the title of this entry you can guess that I saw the DaVinci Code, but before I get there, let me tell you that the rest of my weekend was nothing really big. I had a migraine on Friday night (surprise) and then I took care of my friend, Zarra's daughter, Abby. I only watched Abby for a couple of hours until Zarra's boyfriend got home. Abby is such a sweetie pie! We watched "the candy movie" (Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory). Then today I went to see the DaVinci Code with my friend, Shani. I guess I thought it was a good movie, because it gets you thinking about Jesus. So no matter how you feel, it is a good movie to get people talking. I don't agree with the message of the movie, but I do think that it gives a different perspective. I still like the movie "Vendetta" better, though, for getting people talking and moving. Anyways, it's a must see, because you cannot have an educated opinion about something that you have never seen. That's my two sense. Tomorrow I have another interview with the Special Education district in this area and I then go see Peggy McIntosh speak (she wrote a piece about unpacking the invisible knapsack which is about white privelege). I will probably write again about tomorrow depending on how good of a speaker she is and how well my interview goes.

Snoopy

So, I decided to be a snoop tonight to see what some of my co-workers were up to on myspace. I was so disgusted with one of their websites. I have a bad feeling that he might have told some of the students we work with about his site too which is so inappropriate. In the process of looking on myspace, I decided to check and see if another one of my co-workers has a website, he does and also found out so does someone else I work with. The other two co-workers websites look pretty clean, but the one is trashy. Anyways, enough about my ranting and raving. Last night I went to a Pig Roast. Yes you read that right, a Pig Roast. I guess Chino Latino has a pig roast where you need at least 10 people and each person pays $23. They come out with the full pig and cut some of it up there. They then take the rest back into the kitchen where they come out with the head on a platter. That was the gross part. The meat was really juicy, though. They also served it with black beans covered in sour cream and cheese and plantains in cheese. It comes out with an appetizer dish as well. It was really good! I also had a lot of fun which kind of surprised me, because I was so nervous about seeing some of the people there. My friend, Katie, was so cool. She invited an old friend of ours from high school that noone had seen in a really long time. What a cutie! It was so good to see him. Hopefully he comes to our high school reunion as well. Anyways, I was supposed to have Girls Night Out tonight, but I had to cancel, because barely anyone could come so stay tuned. Anyways, I am still interviewing for lots of jobs, so please keep me in your thoughts and prayers (if you pray). I will continue to keep you posted on how it goes.

Festive Weekend

So I found out the hard way that it is really hard to update your blog when you forget your user name and password. So this was a really festive weekend. I was supposed to go to Cinco de Mayo, but I could not find anyone who wanted to go with me and since I have never been before, I did not want to go by myself. I did, however, make it to the Festival of Nations with Shani on Saturday. For some reason, it was not as much fun as it has been in years past. Shani and I figured that maybe it's because we have not missed one for several years. I might have to take a break next year, so it's more fun the following year. AND Cinco de Mayo will probably fall on the same weekend again. On Sunday, I drove my bike into Minneapolis and rode it over to the May Day Parade with Erica. It was really nice to get back on my bike again. It has been two years since I last rode. The parade was awesome! If you have never seen it and are more of a liberal democrate, then you should come with me to the parade next year. In The Heart of the Beast Theatre did all of the costumes for the parade. It was so awesome! When I get a copy of the pictures from Erica (I forgot to put the memory card back in my digital), I will post them online. It was awesome. I then went to the park to watch the ceremony and then rode back to Erica's by myself so that I could get over to my parent's house. My grandma is not able to be here for my B-day, so I had to get her B-day present. So, that was the weekend. I am not sure that this weekend will be too exciting besides the Race for the Cure and my B-day/Mother's Day celebration. I also have my first pig roast (thanks, Katie) on the 18th. I had a job interview on Monday, May 8 for a part-time position with Robbinsdale School District. I have another interview for a full-time job with Hopkins School District on my B-day (May 15) and another interview for a Guardian Ad Litem Coordinator position with Hennepin County on May 18. If some people are not aware, I will only have a 20 hour a week position next year with my current district, so I am either looking for an additional 20 hour a week position or a full-time somewhere else. Wish me luck! And ladies, I am hopefully going to have a date for Girls Night Out by the end of this week, so keep your eyes and ears open. I am leaning towards May 19, but I have to work it around two women's schedules.

Update

So Easter was pretty cool and relaxing. My family (aunts, uncles, cousins) got together on Good Friday. We decided to do this, because my cousin was planning a funeral for her late husband. I did not do anything else that weekend. That Wednesday, I was at a conference and then had to leave to go to a funeral and then went back to the conference. It was a good conference. I found out that my friend, Katie, is engaged! For all the girls who read this site, he proposed in Paris. Poor Katie :) Last weekend, I was supposed to go out for a friend's B-day on Friday, but I had a migraine (surprise!). On Saturday, I went out to celebrate my friend, Jen's, two year anniversary with her fiance. I did meet someone, but I won't say much more until something happens. Saturday was a blast! Laura, if you read this website, I was in your old neck of the woods, Northeast Minneapolis. It was a nice change of pace. Besides that, I have had a migraine for 11 days and counting now. I went to the doctor on Wednesday and got a shot, which helped a little. I had to go back today. I feel like today did the trick, but we'll see. Longest migraine I have ever had. Looking for a new job does not help (I will only be 20 hours a week next year). I am trying to schedule an interview for a Guardian Ad Litem supervisory position. The interview will not take place until mid-May. So, that's about it. Wish me luck on getting rid of my migraine! More later!

Thursday, April 13, 2006

A lady opened her refrigerator and saw a rabbit sitting on one of the shelves.

"What are you doing in there?"

she asked.

The rabbit replied:

"This is a Westinghouse, isn't it?",
to which the lady replied

"Yes."

"Well," the rabbit said,

"I'm westing."

Sorry... I couldn't stop myself.

Have a Wonderful Easter...

It's coming soon!

SO

Okay, so what have I been doing the last two weeks (besides looking for a new job)? Well, last weekend, I went to see a couple of cool movies. I saw "V for Vendetta" and "Failure to Launch". Both of them were awesome movies. "V for Vendetta" has a powerful message that I feel everyone should hear, unfortunately most people will think that this is just a movie. As a social worker, I have only felt such a powerful message from a fictional move three other times ("Power of One", "Sarafina" and "Pay It Forward"). Then "Failure to Launch" is just a funny, romantic, comedy that everyone has to see at least once. This weekend, I went to a going away party for my former supervisor and another co-worker at the Leaning Tower of Pizza. I then went out with my friend, Erica, and some of her friends to the Loring Pasta Bar. It was fun to meet a lot of people there (Erica used to work there) and hang out with new people. On Saturday night, I went to see Jesse Lang play at Bogarts (after I had a nice dinner with my friend, Amy at Old Chicago). My friend, Erin was there as well as her parents. Her mother used to be my childcare provider when I was little, so it was fun to see them. I also got to see my friend, JB and some other people I have not seen in a while. It is also Amy's B-day this week, so we were out celebrating that as well. Happy Birthday, Aims! So that was my weekend. Off to bed so I can be wide awake for another wonderful week at work (only 8 more weeks until summer vacation). More later!

Long Time Coming

So it was brought to my attention that I have been slacking on my website, so I will update the site for the past three weeks, since so much has happened. This will probably be a long blog. On March 3, I went to a Hip Hop show with my friend, Erica. It was a really good show. It was also cool, because I ran into a kid that grew up on the block behind me. It was so strange with how much he has NOT changed and how much I have. I met a guy, but he's a youngin so nothing happening there. I took it easy on Saturday, because I was not feeling really good and I had to go see a couple of my students play hockey on Sunday. It was their tournament. It is so cute to see 2nd graders play hockey, because they look so small on the ice and they fall down for no reason. My team won, so that was extra exciting. That week, I had a job interview at Webster Magnet School with St. Paul Public Schools (I did not get that job). I was then sick the rest of the week (I know pretty lame). Saturday I went to a CD Release Party for "Wrinkle-T" which is a cool local band. Check them out at www.wrinkle-t.com It was the largest and best show I have been to of theirs, yet. I went to the show with my friends, Amy and Shani. The following Tuesday, March 14 I had another job interview with St. Paul Public Schools at the Wellstone School. I am still waiting to hear back from them (they should call tomorrow, so wish me luck). If you haven't figured out by now, I am looking for a new job. I will be cut to 20 hours a week next year...so wish me luck on getting a full-time position in a school district. If I get this one, I will be leaving the district before the end of the school year if they will let me break my contract. On Friday, I had been planning on going out for St. Patty's Day, but I ended up feeling sick and came home and slept. Saturday, I met my friend, Zarra and her little girl, Abby. I took them to my district's People's Fair which is like a small Festival of Nations. Abby had a blast (her mom and I had a good time too). We then went shopping and then back to Zarra's where I hung out with Abby until she went to bed. Then our friend, Vik, came over and later Diana. We had a lot of fun! I took it easy last night which took me to today. So, that should have caught me up on my website (thanks, Mom). I will put a post on here when I find out the job (whether good or bad). I do need to ask people to pray (if you believe in that) for me and my family right now. My great-great aunt passed away last night and my cousin-in-law is on his last stretch, both on the same side of the family. It is going to be especially rough on my grandmother. More later!

3/2

Just a quick update. I had the endoscopy today and it turns out that there is no ulcer, no signs of anything wrong including what I thought MIGHT be happening which is an allergic reaction to gluten. So, it might just be the bacterial infection in my stomach still hanging on. I will go back to the doctor next week to have more blood tests and see what the next course of action is. I will keep an update on the web when I find out what is going on. Again, probably nothing major, but just annoying.

2/24-2/26

Not much happened this weekend. I have been having really bad migraines, so I tried to take it easy. I stayed home on Friday night. Saturday, I went to see the movie "Firewall" with my friend, Amy. I again forgot her Christmas present (yes Christmas). The movie was really good and suspenceful. A must see! Sunday, I decided to go get a massage...big mistake! My neck and back hurt so badly afterwards that I had trouble sleeping. I ended up going to an chiropractor on Monday night. I have never had such an aweful massage before and I have had quite a few massages. Anyways, again another low-key weekend. I hope to spice things up this weekend and next so I should have some better things to write about. My weekdays are usually work and home nothing exciting. I guess I need to live vicariously through others right now. Thursday I am having an endoscopy (tube put down my throat) to see if I have an ulcer. If I do not have this, then the doctor has to decide what else it is. Probably nothing serious, though. More later!

So...

So it looks like I missed writting about two weekends. I guess there was nothing overly exciting about the weekends. I saw Nanny McPhee which was good but I think it gives too many children ideas about pranks they can do. I also got to FINALLY hang out with my friend, Zara this past weekend and help her put together her daughter's new room at her apartment. I also have been reading this book (that I picked for the Diversity class I co-teach), Lives on the Line: Dispatches from the U.S.-Mexico Border which is a book about Ambos Nogales (Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Sonora, Mexico). Many of you know that I went there this last summer to do some mission work with some high school students, so it is fun to read this book and educate others about the plight on the border. I also got to see my friend, Erin and her beautiful children I will attach a picture of her son and one of her daughter. Okay, so the beautiful picture of the baby on the Bible is Rowan, the next pick of the little boy next to the boy in the cowboy suit is Isaiah on the left and his father on the right and the last picture is of Erin and Bill and their beautiful children. Cute pics huh?

Weekend of 2/3-2/5

I had a better weekend this time. I went out with my good friend, Erica on Friday night. We met up with some guys that she went to highschool with and ended up hanging out with them for the rest of the night. I had a blast. I also braved going to Figlio's, but unfortunately (I was ready for it) my ex was not working, so I was all hyped up for nothing. Saturday I took it easy and went and saw Pride and Prejudice with my friend, Amy. We then went to Applebee's to have dinner. I watched the Superbowl on Sunday all alone :) but it turned out to be a very productive game (I got a lot of work done around the house). I am off tonight to go see Jesse Lang play. More later.

Weekend

I wish that I had something cool to report this weekend, but I don't. Boring! I was supposed to go out with some coworkers on Friday night, got sick. I was supposed to go out on Saturday night, got sick. Life story. Hopefully I will have more to talk about later this week.
